SMS Terms: My Person check-ins
SmartSober My Person texts ask you to check in with someone you have agreed to support. You do not need the app. Messages are based on the rules shown in your private invitation. They do not include journal entries or raw Health readings and do not establish a relapse or a diagnosis. SmartSober is not an emergency service, and SMS delivery is not guaranteed.
You choose whether to receive texts
The SmartSober user shares a private invitation with you. Review the person’s name and rules, choose the unchecked agreement box, and send the prepared confirmation from your own phone. Opening a link alone does not enroll you. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase. Rules or recipient changes require a new invitation.
Frequency and cost
Up to one automatic check-in per day, plus confirmations and help messages you request. Message and data rates may apply through your mobile carrier. No advertising is included in these check-in texts. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Stop or get help
Reply STOP to stop SmartSober My Person texts to your number. You can also reopen your invitation and select Stop messages. A message already being sent may still arrive. Reply HELP or email joe@smartsober.app for help. Sending START does not restore an old support plan automatically; contact support and accept a new invitation before check-ins resume.
Your information
SmartSober uses Twilio to send and receive texts. We keep a record of your consent, the agreed plan, its disclosure version, verification time and message identifier so we can honor your choices. Phone numbers and SMS consent are not sold or shared with third parties for their marketing. See our privacy policy. Contact joe@smartsober.app to ask about your information or request deletion, subject to records needed to honor opt-outs and applicable obligations.
