SmartSober iPhone beta
A sobriety journal that is also your daily check-in
Some days you have a lot to say. Some days it is a sentence. In SmartSober, saving your journal entry is your daily check-in, so there is one place to reflect instead of two forms to complete.
One entry, one check-in
Start from Today or open Journal. Write what you want to remember and save it. Your check-in is about making room for an honest moment, not earning a score or proving that you had a good day. Entries stay in the local app; they are not automatically posted to the peer community or sent to your support person.
Your progress can have more than one starting point
You can keep separate recovery dates for different paths, such as alcohol and another substance. Today shows the progress for each date, with milestone celebrations and a daily positive thought. You can choose to share a milestone card using Messages, Mail or another destination on your phone. Sharing is your choice.
A check-in plan shares timing, not your entry
If you opt into a My Person plan, SmartSober can record the time of a saved journal check-in for a missed-check-in rule. The plan does not send the journal text to your person. Writing to an AI tool outside the iPhone app does not create a journal entry or count as an app check-in.
How to get started in the app
- Open Today or Journal.
- Write and save your entry.
- See your progress or choose a milestone to share.
SmartSober keeps journal entries and recovery dates on your iPhone. Do not assume they will follow you to another phone or an AI service.
